The New York Times reports that Walled City, a town in Pennsylvania, has officially applied to become a US city.
The article describes the application as an “evolution of the idea of a community as a place where people can come together to work, play, eat and do other civic activities without the need to move anywhere else.”
The city currently has two bars and a hotel, and will open its first restaurant in 2019.
It’s unclear if the move will lead to a new city, but we will update this article as we learn more.
The Walled city will be home to the US Army Corps of Engineers, and is expected to become home to a high-speed rail line.
